Access to one product does not automatically include another. Read [Account and product access](https://docs.phasefolio.com/getting-started/access) if you are unsure where to begin. Use the source and availability information shown in your product. These guides describe the workflow; they do not activate a source or grant access. ## Find the right kind of help - **Docs:** practical steps and explanations for using the products. - **[Methodology](https://phasefolio.com/methodology):** the basis of calculations, evidence handling, and published validation. - **[Support](https://phasefolio.com/support):** common problems, frequently asked questions, and contact details. ## Read with an AI assistant Every guide is available as plain Markdown. Use **Copy page**, **View Markdown**, or the [documentation index](https://docs.phasefolio.com/reference/ai-readable-docs) to give an assistant the exact instructions you are reading. --- # Account And Product Access Understand your account, product access, and where to get help signing in. Canonical URL: https://docs.phasefolio.com/getting-started/access Last updated: 2026-09-08 ## Sign in to your account Use **Sign in** from the PhaseFolio website. The shared account service handles sign-in and account settings. Use the email address associated with your invitation or product access. From the product directory, open the product available to your account. ## Check product access Workspace and Atlas have separate access permissions. Creating an account or joining an organization does not establish access to every product. If a product shows that access is required, follow the displayed access instructions or [contact PhaseFolio](https://phasefolio.com/contact). **Workspace is available to enterprise organizations.** You need membership in an organization with Workspace access and the appropriate product permission. An individual sign-up does not include Workspace. [Request access for your organization](https://phasefolio.com/contact), or ask your organization administrator about an existing invitation. Sentinel is in development. A product entry for Sentinel does not mean that monitoring or alerts are available. ## Work in the right organization When your account belongs to an organization, check the active organization before working with its records. The records and actions available to you depend on that organization and your assigned role. If you cannot find a record, first check your account and organization. Do not create a duplicate record just to work around an access problem. ## Understand usage limits Some research actions have a run allowance or capacity limit. Read the allowance and availability displayed before starting an action. A capacity message can indicate that the service is busy; an exhausted allowance indicates a different limit. ## Get help Use [Support](https://phasefolio.com/support) for sign-in, access, or missing-record problems. Include the product name, the action you were taking, and any error message. Never send a password, session cookie, API key, or private access link. --- # Your First Comparison Start with a landscape question and work toward a source-linked comparator set. Canonical URL: https://docs.phasefolio.com/atlas/quickstart Last updated: 2026-09-08 ## Before you start Open Atlas from your PhaseFolio product directory. You need access to the product and, for a model-assisted research run, an available run allowance. Start with a public-source research question. Do not include patient information, confidential trial data, credentials, or material you are not authorized to submit. ## Define the landscape Choose **New comparison** and enter your landscape question. Include the indication and any population, treatment setting, intervention, or study-design boundaries that matter to the comparison. For example: “Which studies report on this indication in a previously treated population?” This is a question template, not a claim that any particular study will be found. Review the proposed search terms before continuing. A broad question and a precise registry expression are different things; make sure the expression captures the scope you intended. ## Check sources and prepare the comparison Inspect the source boundary. Include only available sources that are relevant to your question, then continue with the search/preparation action shown in the product. Source availability, inclusion in your question, and successful execution are separate states. A source that is unavailable or was not searched cannot support a conclusion that no evidence exists. ## Inspect and select comparators Review the returned candidates. Check the underlying study record, population, design, and other comparison dimensions before selecting a record. A surfaced candidate is a lead for inspection, not a declaration that two studies are interchangeable. Build or open the evidence packet for your selected records. Check coverage and missing information before proceeding. Read [Reading the evidence](https://docs.phasefolio.com/atlas/evidence) for details. ## Run research when you need synthesis The model-assisted research action analyzes eligible evidence for the selected records. It is a separate step from retrieving and preparing source evidence, and it can use your run allowance. Review the selection and scope before starting. Follow the progress and terminal status shown in the product. A pending, failed, or cancelled run is not a completed research answer. ## Return to the work Where the saved-landscape interface is enabled, reopen your landscape from recent comparisons. Use **Landscape**, **Evidence packets**, **Research**, and **Activity** to inspect its different views. The history shown in the product determines what was saved. Read [Working with landscapes](https://docs.phasefolio.com/atlas/comparisons) for revision behavior and recovery. --- # Working With Landscapes Keep the question, comparator selection, and evidence context together. Canonical URL: https://docs.phasefolio.com/atlas/comparisons Last updated: 2026-09-08 ## Keep the question with the evidence A landscape brings together a comparison question, its source/search context, candidate records, and associated evidence. Use a precise question so that the next person reviewing the work can understand why a record belongs. Keep Atlas landscapes distinct from **Workspace**, the separate diligence and analysis product. ## Navigate a saved landscape When your product lane supports saved landscapes, its views have distinct purposes: | View | What to inspect | | ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | | Landscape | The question, source scope, and comparator candidates. | | Evidence packets | Prepared evidence and coverage for selected records. | | Research | Model-assisted research and its current or completed status. | | Activity | Recorded actions and execution history. | An entry in the recent list does not mean every downstream step completed. Read the status: a draft, a prepared packet, and a completed research run represent different outcomes. ## Reopen or refresh Reopening saved work should show its recorded question, selection, evidence, and source context. A refresh produces a successor revision rather than silently rewriting historical evidence. When comparing revisions, inspect changes in the question, included sources, candidate selection, and source dates. A newer revision is not proof that all sources were refreshed successfully. ## Recover from interrupted work If a run is still pending, reopen its existing record and inspect the current status before starting another run. A browser reload or lost connection does not, by itself, prove that server work stopped. A cancellation request also needs a terminal result. If the state remains unclear, use the recovery action shown or [contact support](https://phasefolio.com/support) with the displayed request/run identifier. --- # Reading The Evidence Inspect source records, evidence packets, and the limits of a comparison. Canonical URL: https://docs.phasefolio.com/atlas/evidence Last updated: 2026-09-08 ## Start at the source Inspect the source record behind a displayed fact. Check its date, study identity, and context. A citation establishes where a statement came from; it does not make every possible interpretation of that statement valid. Atlas surfaces comparator evidence. It does not recommend treatment, diagnose disease, declare benefit-risk, or establish that one intervention is more effective than another. ## Preserve comparison context Before comparing values, check the population, arm or regimen, endpoint, denominator, timepoint, and data cutoff where those fields apply. Similar labels can refer to materially different measurements. Protocol declarations describe planned work. Observed results describe reported findings. Keep them distinct when both are present. ## Inspect an evidence packet An evidence packet contains the prepared evidence associated with selected records. Review its source links, coverage, missing fields, conflicts, and any quarantined or unavailable material. A partial packet may contain useful accepted evidence. Its gaps remain part of the result and should travel with any summary you make. ## Interpret missingness correctly - **Missing:** a requested field was not available in the displayed evidence. - **Conflicting:** sources or records disagree in a way that remains unresolved. - **Quarantined:** material was excluded from accepted evidence because it did not pass the applicable checks. - **Not searched:** the product did not complete that source search for this question. None of these states means that a biological effect, safety issue, program, or result does not exist. ## Read model-assisted research Use the research answer as a starting point for inspecting its cited evidence. Check that each material statement is supported by the displayed sources and applies to the same comparison context. The current research action synthesizes selected eligible evidence. It does not independently browse for more sources or establish exhaustive coverage. --- # Sources And Coverage Understand source availability, inclusion, search outcomes, and missing evidence. Canonical URL: https://docs.phasefolio.com/atlas/source-coverage Last updated: 2026-09-08 ## Availability, inclusion, and execution Read each source in three stages: | Dimension | Meaning | | ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Availability | Whether the platform has enabled the source for your product lane. | | Inclusion | Whether that available source is included in this landscape. | | Execution | Whether it was actually searched, and whether the search succeeded. | Selecting a source does not activate it. The source boundary displayed for your account is the authority for what you can include. ## Understand the current source boundary ClinicalTrials.gov is the starting activated evidence pack described by these guides. Additional sources become selectable only when their product and source checks pass. Consult the in-product source status for your exact lane and run. A separately displayed preview or companion search may not be eligible for comparator selection, evidence packets, or model analysis. Read its displayed limitations before using it. ## Interpret search outcomes A successful search returning zero records means no records were returned for that query and source execution. It does not establish that no relevant study exists elsewhere or under different search terms. A partial search, unavailable source, timeout, or failed request is different from a successful empty result. Review the reason and retry or refine the question where appropriate. ## Check freshness Source dates and recorded retrieval context help explain how current a result is. A saved historical landscape retains the context of its revision. Opening it later does not automatically refresh the evidence. When freshness matters, inspect the source status and use the available refresh workflow. Keep the earlier revision when you need to reconstruct a prior comparison. --- # Your First Diligence Case Organize an asset, inspect the supporting evidence, and begin a scenario. Sign in with an account that belongs to an organization with Workspace access. If your organization does not yet have access, [contact PhaseFolio](https://phasefolio.com/contact) to request it. ## Begin with a deal Open Workspace and go to **Deals**. Choose **New Deal** to create a company-level opportunity. In **Create deal**, choose an existing company or create a new one. Enter a company name when needed, give the deal a useful label, and fill in the relevant process context. Choose **Create Deal**. Use a label that another team member can recognize. A deal is the opportunity being evaluated; an asset or program is the specific development context within it. ## Add or open an asset Open the deal and use **New Asset** or **Add Asset** where shown. Enter the asset context and open its **Asset Workspace**. Inspect the available asset information, clinical-trial evidence, notes, and **Evidence Register**. Keep assumptions separate from sourced facts. Add source links and context that a reviewer can follow. ## Create the first model Use the available valuation/model action for the asset. Review the indication track, development stage, phase assumptions, costs, and commercial assumptions before calculating. Save a clearly named case so the next reviewer understands what it represents. A calculated value reflects the supplied assumptions and methodology; it is not a prediction or recommendation. ## Revisit and compare Saved valuation models offer **View Results** and **Edit Inputs**. Use [Assumptions and scenarios](https://docs.phasefolio.com/workspace/scenarios) to make the relationship between inputs and outputs explicit. Check the active organization and your role if editing controls or records are unavailable. ## Prepare a reviewable output Use the export or **Asset Snapshot** actions associated with the relevant case. Review exactly which asset, indication tracks, and model outputs are included before sharing. See [Exports and snapshots](https://docs.phasefolio.com/workspace/exports). Sharing an output is a separate decision from generating it. --- # Assumptions And Scenarios Work with explicit assumptions and compare how they change the model. Canonical URL: https://docs.phasefolio.com/workspace/scenarios Last updated: 2026-09-08 ## Name the case you are modeling A useful scenario makes its assumptions recognizable: for example, a different development timeline, cost case, or commercial assumption. Name the case for the change it represents. When an asset has multiple indication tracks, confirm the track you are editing. Different tracks can have different development paths and model inputs. ## Review inputs before calculating Inspect development stage, phase durations, costs, probabilities, discounting, and commercial inputs exposed by the model. Check units and time assumptions. Attach sources or explain the rationale for material changes. An editable assumption is not a verified fact. Keep evidence and analyst judgment distinguishable in notes and review. ## Inspect saved models From the asset workspace, use **View Results** to inspect a saved model and **Edit Inputs** to revisit its assumptions. Check the model label, indication track, and updated information before making changes. If you want a separate case, use the workflow's save/new-model controls and a distinct label. Confirm the saved result rather than assuming an edit created a new scenario automatically. ## Compare like with like When comparing outputs, identify which inputs differ and which remain fixed. A difference in rNPV can come from development timing, probability, costs, revenue assumptions, or several changes at once. These modeled outputs require professional evaluation in the context of your decision. --- # Exports And Snapshots Share an output with the context needed to inspect it later. An **Asset Snapshot** packages a selected valuation case and its recorded context into a locked review artifact. Available formats and controls depend on the workflow and your access. Check the actual export action before assuming it includes all asset records or all indication tracks. ## Create an asset snapshot Open **Asset Snapshot** in the asset workspace. Select the valuation case and any indication tracks that should be included. Inspect the resulting artifact before distributing it. The snapshot workflow supports PDF, Excel, and JSON artifacts. A generated artifact can contain confidential company information. Share it only with authorized recipients. ## Verify a signed artifact Where an artifact includes a verification link or hash, use the [verification service](https://app.phasefolio.com/verify) to check its recorded identity and version information. Verification establishes a relationship to the issued artifact and its recorded metadata. It does not validate a scientific conclusion, a commercial forecast, or an investment decision. Not every file produced by every workflow should be assumed to carry the same signature or verification contract. ## Preserve the context Retain the source dates, scenario assumptions, coverage notes, and version information relevant to the output. If you update the model later, the earlier artifact continues to describe the earlier recorded case. For a missing or failed export, retain the displayed error/request identifier and [contact support](https://phasefolio.com/support). Do not send private download tokens or an entire confidential artifact in an initial support request. --- # Using These Docs With AI Read or download individual Markdown pages and documentation indexes. Ask the assistant to distinguish documented behavior from assumptions and to keep source coverage and product access limits intact. Documentation access grants no product access. These pages contain public instructions; they do not expose account records, private landscapes, credentials, or an authenticated API session. ## Use the product integration separately User documentation is separate from the supported API/MCP interfaces. Do not infer a supported API endpoint from a browser route or an example in a user guide. --- # Glossary A short guide to the terms used across Atlas and Workspace. A landscape inside Atlas is not the Workspace product. ## Landscape A comparison question together with its source/search scope, candidate records, and associated evidence context. ## Comparator candidate A record surfaced for inspection against the question. Surfacing does not establish clinical equivalence or justify cross-study efficacy ranking. ## Evidence packet Prepared source evidence associated with selected records, including coverage and limitations. ## Source pack A governed source capability. Its availability, inclusion in a landscape, and search outcome are separate facts. ## Quarantine Material kept out of accepted evidence because applicable source, identity, comparison-grain, or other validity checks did not pass. ## Revision A recorded version of a landscape or output. A successor revision allows work to change while preserving historical context. ## Scenario and asset snapshot A **scenario** represents a set of model assumptions and outputs.
